Billy believes the fate of the trees is all left up to him.
Billy B. Leaves, to save the trees, we must go out on a limb.
Billy B. Leaves Billy believes
Everyone else as Billy perceives is simply ecologically dim.

The trees, they knew `tis true, to carry on this fight.
They’d need to have a human friend with wisdom and foresight.
But who should they seek, a man or a child?
That’s when Billy B. Leaves, collecting leaves, stumbled into the wild.

“Billy,” said they, “We’ve come to you to salvage what we can.
The air, we fear, and the land right here won’t last with Modern Man.”

Billy B. Leaves. Billy believes
Everyone else, as Billy perceives, is simply not a part of the plan.

The trees befriended Billy one crispy autumn day.
When out collecting fallen leaves, he stumbled across a forest in decay.
But it wasn’t Mother Nature that caused the woods’ demise.
Instead, it was the Modern Man whose negligence filled our eyes.

Billy B. Leaves the fate of the trees is all left up to him.
Billy believes to save the trees we must go out on a limb.
Billy B. Leaves. Billy believes, oh…
Everyone else as Billy Perceives is simply ecologically dim.

Billy B. Leaves, I’m sorry to see it’s all left up to you.
Nobody cares, and nobody sees the damage that we do.
Everyone here is depending on you.
To carry the fight, remember what’s right.
Oh, Billy. Oh, Billy, we love you.

Billy B. Leaves, the fate of the trees is all left up to you.
Billy believes to save the trees, here’s what we must do.
Children, believe in saving the trees, oh…
Everyone else, as Billy perceives, is trying to save them, too.
